I love food; it is a gravely serious matter in my household, I devote many hours developing recipes for my cookbooks. The lowly ham, though? Meh--until I tried Amana's. This is easily the best ham we've ever had, after Amana's, I wouldn't even consider any other. It. Is. That. Good. Be aware their smoke products are shipped without cooling most months of the year--don't freak out (like I did the first time). I am living evidence the fully cured & smoked meats are perfectly safe to eat (& did I say delicious???), but be sure to refrigerate upon their arrival. Try, you will NOT regret.

I have heard to use a "good quality" bacon whenever I bake it in the oven. Had no idea what that meant until I baked your Pepper Smoked bacon this morning! The hams are succulent, sweet, and just the right size for two people to enjoy. Anxious to try the Applewood Smoked Bacon! Everyone enjoyed their packages. Those sent to cold climates or delivered early in the day were perfect. The Louisiana and Texas packages were delivered early evening and again warm. I know you say it's not a big deal but it is a big deal when the recipient is afraid to eat it. Otherwise, love the product and love,love,love the customer service!

I'd give these folks 6 stars if it were possible. The point of the story below is that the product far exceeded my expectations, and Amana Meat Shop has demonstrated the highest level of customer service.

UPS "lost" two packages from Amana Meat Shop that were destined for me. UPS claimed to have delivered them, but they had not. I contacted Amana Meat Shop. They replaced both packages without quibble. But there's more -- Charisse tracked the replacement shipment from the time it left them until it arrived at my door. I had no sooner brought the package in when I saw an email from her, just checking to make sure that I'd actually got the replacement package.

I cooked one of these small bone-in hams in a ceramic "egg" grill at low heat, over applewood. I glazed the ham with orange marmalade, dark rum, and Grand Marnier. Without a doubt, this is the best ham I've ever had. Moist, tender, flavorful. When the ham was gone, I made some bean soup with the ham bone -- terrific!

I live in North Carolina, and travel frequently to Virginia. Both states have many options for ham -- country ham, city ham, whatever. But the Amana product is, I believe, better than anything I can get here.

It arrived quickly, the ham is delicious, and the bacon outstanding.

Amana Smoked Hams are fully cooked and ready to eat. To serve warm, thaw in refrigerator, remove packaging and place on a rack in a shallow pan with a small amount of water. Heat at the following temperatures and times. How to heat : Temperature/ Time Bone-In Ham 325ºF 10-12 min./lb.
Tip: These little hams are perfect for making soups!
