Ordered a package of our favorite salami bacon and ham to share with friends at our winter home in Mission Texas. We received it on the day it was scheduled to arrive, but I opened the box, the meat was cool, but by no means cold. There wasn't anything inside to keep the meat cold. It probably was frozen when leaving Iowa, but by time it reached us in Texas, it wasn't very cold. Needless to say I'm a little afraid to share fearing making someone sick.

Amana Response: Thank you for your feedback. The great thing about all the smoked items in this package is that they travel well without any refrigeration. The ham is fully cooked, the bacon is cured and the summer sausage and mustard are shelf-stable. We do not ship the items frozen in the wintertime, so if they meat was cool, you are good to enjoy with confidence!

This was our fist time ordering and our Family of 9 loved the food, from bacon and eggs at breakfast, to salami and cheeses for lunch. One cheese stood out swiss and white cheddar. The bacon was thick and great flavor. It feed everyone for a few days an awesome sampler. Could not have been anymore perfect for us. This is our new go to company for meat and cheeses.

Sent this VIP package (along with a "ride along" of Amana bacon) to my VIP Dad for Fathers' Day. He loved it! I've sent Amana Meat Shops/Smokehouse products for Christmas, birthdays and special occasions for several years now. People love these gifts -- the food is delicious. My only regret is that nobody sent me one!

This company takes an old-fashioned approach to Customer Service. The day I placed the order I got a call from the Amana Meat Shop to validate the shipping address. As it happened, I'd supplied an incomplete address. A real person read the order, saw the issue, and followed up to make sure they had the correct information. This is only one example of their attention to detail and to customer satisfaction.

I ordered several of these as Christmas gifts this year. Everyone loved them-so much so that I wonder why I hadn't done all my shopping at Amana Meat Shop before! Due to issues with UPS in North Carolina over the holidays, two packages intended for me never arrived. No problem -- a quick phone call -- Amana Meat Shop replaced both of them without quibble. My family has enjoyed Amana Meat Shop for decades. You will not find a tastier product nor better customer service.

Our summer sausages and ham are fully cooked and ready to eat. The ham is very lean and great for slicing for sandwiches or snacking. Can gently reheat to serve warm. Cook bacon before eating. Cheese is ready for snacking anytime. Tip: This ham, cheese and summer sausages are more flavorful when served at room temperature.
